Hatch and Anaklia Development Consortium sign contract to consult on environment and social impact of Anaklia Deep Sea Port

January 23, 2019

The Anaklia Development Consortium has announced that they have retained Hatch to act as the Owner’s Environmental and Social Impact Assessment consultant for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

The Anaklia Deep Sea Port is one of the largest infrastructure investment projects in Georgia’s history. Located on the Black Sea, the project is expected to transform Georgia into a logistics and development hub, a natural fit as the shortest route between Asia and Europe.

Hatch, together with the Anaklia Development Consortium and two other major international companies, will finalize the Environment and Social Impact Assessment report.

The Anaklia Development Consortium has already successfully undertaken a significant process of negotiations with international banking institutions. The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment report will be presented to financial institutions in the near future.
