July 23, 2015

Kitimat, British Columbia (July 23, 2015) – Lapointe Engineering Ltd. (LEL), a strong northern British Columbia multidisciplinary engineering firm, is joining Hatch, one of Canada’s leading employee-owned professional services firms with operations globally. LEL specializes in project management, design engineering and maintenance engineering and has been providing practical engineering solutions to northern BC since 1980.

“I am excited to share our local knowledge of the region and its clients and projects with Hatch, one of the most respected and responsible engineering and construction management companies in the world,” says Robin Lapointe, founder of LEL.

Hatch and LEL have previously worked side-by-side on projects in the Kitimat region, including supporting Rio Tinto Alcan’s Kitimat Modernization Project.  The integration of LEL will strengthen Hatch’s ability to provide exceptional ongoing support for clients and projects across the region.

“Lapointe has a reputation for project excellence in northwestern British Columbia, and we believe this integration will support further safe, sustainable growth in the region and an unprecedented level of service to our current and future clients,” say John Bianchini, CEO of Hatch.

The integration opens up new opportunities for Hatch and LEL in northern British Columbia, where substantial economic expansion is expected to continue in the coming years.
