Abstract

The rehabilitation of the Grand Falls Dam is an example of a partnership between the Owner, the Engineer and the Contractor which allowed for the development of safe, innovative, environmentally friendly, cost effective and constructible designs that were tailored to the site conditions and the contractor’s means and methods. This approach resulted in the completion of the project well below the original design budget and a year ahead of schedule.
