Climate change, inequalities, poverty, and economic development. These are just some of the toughest challenges facing the world today. In this context, One Young World was created to identify, promote, and connect the world's most impactful young leaders to create a better world, with more responsible and more effective leadership. The annual summit convenes the brightest young talent from over 190 countries and across a multitude of business sectors with the goal of working together to accelerate social impact and promote positive change.

Ten years after the inaugural summit in 2010, One Young World 2019 took place in London, England from the October 22–25. Aligned with our Manifesto vision of being passionately committed to the pursuit of a better world through positive change, Hatch had the unique opportunity to participate in the summit for the first time, sending five representatives, one from each region in which Hatch operates around the world.

Raquel Ramos, Tim Forrest, Mark Mitchell, Mauro Melaragni and Farid Urbano were chosen out of many nominees to represent Hatch at the summit. With the experience, knowledge, and relationships they each gained, they are now equipped to help Hatch to continue its journey of positive change and contribute to the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, a shared blueprint for a better world and a better tomorrow.

Attendees were given the opportunity to listen to inspiring sessions and speeches led by global dignitaries, business leaders, world renowned humanitarians, and impactful young leaders, such as Richard Branson, Peter Schwarzenbauer, Prof. Muhammad Yunus and Bob Geldof. Each of the over 2,000 delegates participating of the summit were inspired and developed their leadership to help them become agents of change in their communities and organizations. This transforming week also included networking sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and opportunities to meet with others from within our industries, and develop lasting relationships with other future leaders.

”The main objective of the summit is to highlight the massive responsibility each of us have to work together and act immediately to tackle the most demanding and urgent matters our world suffers from. The legacy of the summit will forever echo in our actions as not just leaders of tomorrow but as citizens of today,”confirmed a One Young World Hatch delegate.
