The construction site fencing is now showcasing the work of Toronto-based artist, Wenting Li, who is involved with the PATCH Project. The PATCH project is a social enterprise of artists and designers who produce customized public art to meet the unique needs of different construction sites for the duration of the projects.

The artwork, which is titled “The City Builders” highlights the themes of city building and infrastructure, especially water infrastructure. The artwork spans the northeast side of the Duke of York Boulevard and City Centre Drive, across from the Mississauga Civic Centre on Burnhamthorpe Road.

At Hatch, we believe that in our own unique way, we are helping our clients and communities change the world for the better, bringing smart, sustainable solutions to tackle their toughest challenges. We fully support this initiative by the City of Mississauga and the Region of Peel to help beautify public spaces during long-term construction projects.

“It’s amazing how this unique art piece has completely transformed our construction site, both from an aesthetic and a community perspective. The artwork looks fantastic and has helped reinforce to the residents of downtown Mississauga, in a creative way, our role in building the infrastructure for a strong and vibrant city.” Marc Gelinas, Project Manager
