Solar Canada Annual Conference & Exposition

Canada's Largest Solar Energy Conference

June 20-21, 2018
BMO Centre
Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Hatch is presenter and a plenary session gold sponsor at Solar Canada 2018, the largest solar energy conference in Canada.

Provincial governments and consumers are focusing more on renewable energy in an effort to lower greenhouse gases and utilize more affordable sources of energy. This has created a tremendous opportunity for companies to expand their market presence in Canada.

Hatch eGrid Director, Alexander Stickler will be presenting the “Best Practices—Remote Solar Micro-Grid Design”, on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM, at the Exposition (Hall D). The session will cover microgrid opportunities for solar, design challenges, the economics of different microgrid configurations supported by several real-world project examples.

Micro-grids range from simple site-dedicated, standalone power generation solutions to multi-component systems that including solar, wind, battery storage, diesel generators, and load management. The benefits of adding solar energy to existing or planned micro-grids can be compelling: lower overall energy costs, potentially enhanced reliability, reduced environmental impacts and risks, and greater social license to operate.
