Srivatsa is a principal consultant for our Vehicles and Operations group based in our Pennsylvania office.

Since joining Hatch more than 12 years ago, Srivatsa has earned a strong reputation for his commitment to inclusivity. Srivatsa is passionate about mentoring the next generation of engineers, believing that everyone, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Why do you believe in diversity and inclusion?

At Hatch, we specialize in engineering services and consulting, tackling complex and challenging problems daily. Diversity of thought is immensely valuable in this context. When our workforce comprises of individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, it enriches our team’s ability to approach problems with unique and critical thinking paths. I believe that leveraging the strengths of a diverse team leads to innovative solutions and adds significant value to our consulting services.

Building a strong, diverse team requires the inclusion of all contributors. This ensures that both positive and negative outcomes are shared, keeping the team motivated and accountable.

What do you think we need to do as individuals to improve inclusivity?

Improving inclusivity is important and requires a practical, strategic approach. While it’s a challenging and gradual process, we must work together to create an inclusive environment. As a business, we need to provide the necessary tools for the right candidates to become valuable contributors to a diverse team.

Identifying candidates with problem-solving talent and unique critical thinking skills, regardless of their backgrounds, is essential. By offering them opportunities to develop their skills and gain relevant experience, we enable their career growth and inclusion within the organization.

As experienced professionals, it’s our responsibility to mentor and guide the next generation of engineers. Providing them with the right tools and skillsets will strengthen our team moving forward.

What does positive change mean to you?

From my perspective, positive change in a business context means fostering a supportive work environment where team members collaborate and empower each other to achieve collective success. This is accomplished through the delivery of high-quality, value-added engineering services. I believe that a diverse and inclusive team holds the greatest potential for success.

What do you think are the toughest challenges facing our clients?

In today’s fast-paced, technologically advancing business environment, our clients face the challenge of needing highly effective solutions and specialized skill sets for efficient execution. In my experience, the toughest challenge is identifying individuals with the unique expertise required to tackle these complex and demanding problems.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my colleagues at Hatch. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of talent, motivation, and professionalism to our team. Each day, I am inspired by their dedication and expertise, and I genuinely enjoy collaborating with such remarkable individuals.
