Marcos is a mechanical and piping discipline leader for our project delivery group based in our Belo Horizonte, Brazil office.

Since joining Hatch, he has been committed to mentoring and empowering the next generation of engineers, ensuring they have the opportunities and support needed to thrive. He believes that even small thoughtful actions can lead to meaningful change—especially when driven by purpose and a deep sense of responsibility.
In recognition of his efforts, Marcos was one of the recipients of the 2025 Positive Change Awards, a program to recognize employees who contribute to building Hatch’s inclusive organization, who exemplify the values of our Manifesto, and who actively work towards strengthening our diverse teams.
Why do you believe in diversity and inclusion?
I believe diversity introduces a wide range of ideas, while inclusion brings those ideas together in pursuit of a shared goal. Inclusion also serves as the foundation for a horizontally connected organization. In the context of engineering, diverse perspectives drive innovation, ultimately enhancing the value we deliver through our services.
What do you think we need to do as individuals to improve inclusivity?
To me, inclusion means listening with empathy and practicing active listening to truly understand others. When people feel genuinely heard, it becomes easier to guide their growth and align their professional paths with both their personal aspirations and the company’s goals.
What does positive change mean to you?
Positive change means implementing practical solutions that are safe, innovative, and sustainable while guiding the development of a better world.
What do you think are the toughest challenges facing our clients?
One of the biggest challenges our clients face is the increasing demand for faster delivery, all while maintaining high quality and reducing costs. This makes clients’ openness and acceptance of unconventional ideas essential despite not being an easy task. That is why it is so important to consistently bring forward bold, creative solutions, always grounded in a principle of unconditional honesty.
What are you most proud of?
What I am most proud of, first and foremost, is my team and all that we have achieved together. I am also proud of the journey I have taken in both my professional and personal life.
What do you like most about working at Hatch?
What I appreciate most about working at Hatch is the strong technical support network, the psychologically safe environment, and the rich diversity of cultures coming together to form “One Hatch.” The culture here truly reflects our manifesto; it’s not just words on paper, but something we live and experience every day. That’s what sets us apart from other companies.
