Frequently Asked Questions

Hatch values your project data and we are committed and contracted to protect it. Traditional passwords aren't secure enough anymore. MFA requires you to provide 2 forms of identity: something you know (your validated login account) and something you have (a phone). MFA is commonly used and is fast becoming the global de-facto secure standard for accessing many systems.

Yes. Almost every project team member has a mobile phone that can be used a second form of authentication. It's easy to install an authenticator app on the phone and set it up to access ShareCenter. We don't need to know your phone number - instead we use an app-generated onetime password code.

Yes. Hatch recommends that you use Microsoft Authenticator because it's easier for us to support, but you can use other phone apps such as Twilio Authy, Duo Mobile, LastPass Authenticator.

No. Passwords are not secure and are easily forgotten. SMS is no longer a recommended MFA method due to ease and frequency of exploits against it. This is why we use one-time password codes instead.

No. We do not store any information about your phone, including its number.

Check your junk mail. Setup your email so that messages from invitations@microsoft.com, and messages from notifications@hatcheim.com do not get routed to your Junk Mail folder. If you still can't find the email, then contact your Hatch Document Control team to request they verify your email address and send it again.

Your account will expire through inactivity if you do not log into ShareCenter at least once every 90 days. If this happens you will need to contact your Hatch Document Control team to get your account re-created.

It is possible that your corporate IT setup is configured to prevent access. It is also possible that you are connecting from a Microsoft Office 365 Government (GCC) tenant. We recommend that you work through your Hatch Document Control team to setup a meeting between your IT team and the Hatch IT team, so they can work together to identify a solution. Please capture a screenshot/photo of the error message to help us troubleshoot the problem.

The code may have expired or timed out if not used within a certain period. Invitations expire if not accepted and not logged into ShareCenter within 3 days of the invitation date. In addition to this, we disable accounts if they inactive for 90 days. In both cases you will need to contact Hatch Document Control to request either that the Invitation is re-sent, or that your account be re-enabled depending on the situation.

Contact your Hatch Document Control team and request that the Invitation be re-sent. After receiving a new invitation, you should then follow the instructions in the ShareCenter Setup video.

If you can access ShareCenter from home (without VPN), but not the office it is likely that your IT department has implemented security settings that are restricting access. Your corporate security settings may need to be configured to allow / whitelist the following URLs:

hatcheim.sharepoint.com
*.hatcheim.com

This may require minor changes to firewall, proxy, VPN or browser settings that only your IT can do.

If required, please work through your Hatch Document Control team to setup a meeting between your IT team and the Hatch IT team, so they can work together to identify a solution.
