The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, a critical 1.4-km immersed tube connecting Montreal and Longueuil beneath the St. Lawrence River, has undergone extensive refurbishment to prolong its service life by 40 years and align with rigorous international safety standards.

This paper presents key insights from large-scale fire tests conducted by the CERIB laboratory in France, which were carried out in accordance with the modified hydrocarbon time-temperature fire curve. Supplementary tests validated the Aestuver Tx boards' durability in harsh winter conditions.
