Abstract

The execution of a complex pressure hydrometallurgical process project requires increasing definition of the process model and design criteria to support engineering and capital cost expenditure (CAPEX) development. During the initial phases of a project, the process model and associated process design criteria, test work data, equipment details, water quality, etc., is typically limited.

Process modelling serves as the foundation for the project, wherein the accuracy of the model directly impacts other engineering disciplines and the quality of an estimate. This paper outlines the recommended process parameters and model input requirements for the process model to satisfy a project’s classification under AACE to meet engineering capital cost estimate requirements.
