Abstract
Hatch Associates Consultants Incorporated (Hatch), in conjunction with SCL, developed and executed a CFD test plan to investigate the impact of spill operations on downstream TDG performance over a range of spillway operating flows and flow splits between Spillways No. 1 and 2. The investigation demonstrated that spillway operating strategy can have a significant impact on the TDG performance of the Boundary spillways. This extended abstract presents the CFD and TDG predictive tool methodology that was used, and some of the initial findings as summarized in the 2022 annual project report.
