Abstract

Mitigating noise and vibration to ensure compliance with legal regulations and to prevent harmful impacts to neighbouring communities is a crucial aspect of environmental management in tunnel construction. This paper focuses on identifying the origins of noise and vibration during tunnelling activities and proposes various measures to reduce or eliminate these disturbances. Suggested approaches include using alternative construction equipment along with various sound attenuation controls to effectively reduce the transmission of noise and vibration.
