Abstract

This paper will explore best practices in terms of both planning and executing challenging brownfield outages on existing constrained production facilities where the outage duration and start-up performance are critical to the company’s bottom line. The paper will focus on early planning and risk identification while maximizing pre-outage scopes of work to minimize outage risk. Emphasis will be placed on outage management processes and tools to ensure effective communication and progression to enable the team to understand and manage critical path activities and minimize unknowns.
