Risk of dust emission or explosion in bulk material handling

Bulk materials handling system, with mechanical conveyors or pneumatic conveyors, has always posed an inherent risk of dust emission and spillage when not designed adequately, which can generate hazards that can be harmful to the environment and to the health and safety of personnel. Unfortunately, these dangers often surround bulk materials handling equipment in plants. This article provides a careful understanding of the major risks associated with dust emission and explores how pneumatic conveying system can be used to minimize these risks.
