Hatch earns ISO 19650 certification for design, construction, and information security excellence

July 15, 2025

Hatch has been awarded the BSI Kitemark™ certification for ISO 19650, an internationally recognized standard for information management during the design and construction stages of built assets using Building Information Modelling (BIM).

This milestone underscores Hatch’s commitment to delivering complex infrastructure and industrial projects through disciplined digital practices, collaborative workflows, and high standards of information governance.

“Digital delivery is no longer a future ambition—it’s a current expectation,” said Sherwin Aarons, global director, Information Systems, Hatch. “This certification reinforces our commitment to ensuring data is managed with clarity, consistency, and care at every step of a project.”

The certification followed a rigorous assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI), evaluating Hatch’s processes across live projects. The assessment included how project information is planned, shared, and delivered from BIM execution plans to information delivery protocols, ensuring alignment with ISO 19650-2.

With increasing demands from clients to produce cost-effective and predictable outcomes using the fundamentals of ISO 19650 and digital project delivery, Hatch’s ISO 19650 certification provides clients and partners with added confidence in the company’s ability to manage project information securely and effectively through the full life cycle of design, construction, and commissioning, through to operations.
