Manchester, United Kingdom - Hatch, a leading global engineering, project delivery, and professional services firm, is proud to announce its participation in the Holt Town Regeneration Project. Led by Studio Egret West and working alongside esteemed partners, including Deloitte, MVRDV NEXT, Turley, AKT II, Hilson Moran, and Deetu, Hatch will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this vibrant neighbourhood.

Holt Town, strategically situated between Manchester's city center and the thriving East Manchester investment zone, is poised to become one of the city's most exciting regeneration projects. Encompassing 30 hectares of post-industrial brownfield land, the area presents a unique opportunity to create a sustainable, digitally driven community.

“At Hatch, we believe in holistic development that considers the needs and aspirations of all community members,” says Kelly Watson, director, Urban Solutions at Hatch “Our focus will be on social value, well-being, and positive outcomes across inclusion, health, and quality of life. By co-creating a Neighbourhood Development Framework (NDF), the team aims to transform Holt Town into a thriving urban hub that balances heritage preservation with forward-looking design.”

The project is committed to low-carbon features, ensuring the long-term environmental viability of Holt Town as well as housing solutions that cater to diverse needs, fostering a sense of community.

Holt Town will be a digitally connected neighborhood, embracing technology for enhanced living. It will integrate novel pathways that encourage walking, cycling, and overall well-being resulting in expansive, secure, and environmentally friendly public areas will be at the heart of Holt Town.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together local, national, and international expertise. We are energized by Manchester City Council's bold ambition to create a pioneering framework for Holt Town that reflects the aspirations of a growing Manchester.

Bev Craig, leader of Manchester City Council, expressed her excitement: "Holt Town's potential to create a new town within the city is immense. We look forward to working closely with our partners to shape a vibrant and sustainable community."

David West, founding director of Studio Egret West, added, "Our fresh approach will ensure that Holt Town becomes a beacon of innovation and inclusivity."

The draft plan will be prepared in the coming months, followed by public consultation later this year. We invite all stakeholders to join us on this transformative journey as we build a resilient and thriving Holt Town.
