For the ninth time, Hatch named as one of Greater Toronto’s top employers

The award recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies.

For the ninth consecutive year, we have been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. (Mediacorp), publishers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers program. Winners were announced today by The Globe and Mail.

The Greater Toronto Area is Canada's largest metropolis, and home to more than 6.4 million people. As such, many of the country’s biggest and best employers are headquartered in the GTA, making the competition for top talent fierce. As a global company, Hatch has offices all over the world, but the GTA is home to our largest contingent—more than 2,000 colleagues work in one of our five GTA offices.

“Seeing the diversity in our workplace is one of the best parts of my job,” says Nadia Benjamin, the HR director for Western Canada. “Whether it is celebrating Eid, International Women's Day, or World Mental Health Day, among many others, I see our colleagues bring their full selves to the office and I can't help but be proud."

With the importance of employees’ value and time at the forefront of themes, we continue to focus on the safety and well-being of our greatest asset: our people. In the past year, we emphasized the in-person interactions that benefit our workplace culture and our projects, implementing a professional development leadership and mentorship program for our employees that focused on the importance of collaboration and working together. We also launched a mental wellness program, including new courses, resources, and meditation spaces to help colleagues. Last year, we almost quadrupled our mental health benefit for staff to ensure that they could access the care they need.

One of the other benefits for our staff is the ability to work on the world's most interesting projects. As a flat, globally connected organization, we pride ourselves on sourcing the best talent to solve our clients' toughest challenges, regardless of where they are in the world. Now in its eighteenth year, the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers competition is an editorial project that recognizes employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Editors at Mediacorp review employers on eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. The editors publish detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for these criteria, providing transparency in the selection of winners and a catalogue of best practices for employers and job-seekers alike.
