Philadelphia, PA — Winston Simmonds has been named Hatch’s Regional Director, Infrastructure, USA. Winston is replacing Dominic DiBrito, who has been named Managing Director of the firm’s Transit business unit.

Winston will lead Hatch’s extensive USA Infrastructure group, delivering our deep expertise for clients in transit, water, urban solutions, and transportation, including rail, ports and terminals, highways and bridges, and aviation.

“Winston possesses a keen understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities, and has a proven track record of working collaboratively and successfully with our clients and partners for delivering safe, innovative and sustainable project outcomes,” said Michael Schatz, Global Managing Director, Infrastructure at Hatch. “We are confident that Winston is the right person to lead our USA team.”

Previously the Vice President of the DC Metropolitan area for Hatch, Winston has more than 30 years of progressive project, engineering, and construction management experience in the transportation and public transit industry. He is a proven leader who has successfully delivered large, complex projects. Most recently, Winston was Project Manager for WMATA’s 7000 Series Railcar Program, which includes the procurement of 748-railcars. Prior to that, he held positions in the public sector with Toronto Transit Commission, Sound Transit, and the Port Authority of Allegheny County. Winston has served on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh since 2008 and is currently serving as the Board Secretary.

“I welcome the opportunity to serve the company in this exciting role,” said Winston. “The level of new investments made possible by the passage of the US Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will require our clients to identify and execute projects at an unprecedented pace. Hatch is well equipped to accept this challenge given our breadth of diverse expertise, commitment to nurturing long-term relationships, and providing exceptional service to our clients.”

Winston earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Ryerson University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania.
