Land reclamation nears completion at Nsolv demonstration site

After completing the operations phase of the Nsolv Pilot Plant project in May 2017, land reclamation efforts were put into effect at the Nsolv demonstration site near Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Once the pilot testing program of the Nsolv technology was successfully completed, restoration efforts for the disturbed land were immediately initiated. The detailed land reclamation completed to date includes the decommissioning of the injection, production, monitoring wells, as well as natural gas supply pipeline, the removal of the project facilities and equipment, and the ground re-contouring and replacement of subsoil, topsoil, and salvaged organic matter. The revegetation and seeding are expected to take place in the spring, once weather permits.
