Nominations for the Hatch–CIM Mining and Minerals Project Development Safety Award are now open

January 10, 2018

CIM Safety AwardHatch has been a regular recipient of safety awards globally and a leader in project safety standards for more than 60 years.

In 2012, we began sponsoring the Hatch–CIM Mining & Minerals Project Development Safety Award. This accolade was established to recognize and reward project safety programs that achieve above-average safety-statistic values, feature rigorous training, and have regular auditing. The award focuses on the safety culture and results at the mine and/or processing plant and its infrastructure during the development and construction phases of a project.

Any Canadian project in the mining and minerals sector is eligible to be nominated. To be considered, exceptional projects must satisfy the following award criteria:

- Project owner or project team must be an active CIM member.

- Canadian owner/contractor team must complete a single, significant (>300,000 work hours), Canada-located project within 12 months prior to the award application. Applications stand for three years.

- All Canadian mine and processing facilities in the metals, diamonds, industrial minerals, oil sands, and coal sectors are included and eligible.

Nominations have been extended to February 12, 2018. For more information on the 2018 CIM Awards click here.
