Saturday October 8, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Making Resource Recovery Concepts Come to Life: Operator Education Through Interactive Simulation

This workshop will show the strength of simulators to illustrate fundamental resource recovery concepts to operators by offering simulator‐based training on operating a nitrifying activated sludge system. Interactive simulation exercises will challenge attendees to use the simulator to troubleshoot and achieve year‐round nitrification and assessing the effects of secondary clarifier operation on process performance.

 

Sunday October 9, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Game-Based Modeling

Teams of wastewater professionals will compete for prizes and glory in a process modeling competition at the Game‐Based Modeling workshop. Teams will work together to perfect, strategize, and optimize process design and operation in five different simulation platforms including our new and improved GPS-X Teams will run simulations on a dynamic facility process model, with unique goals and restrictions at each simulation station. New modelers will learn about the capabilities of process simulators with a focus on problem‐solving during this very interactive workshop.

To see Hatch’s Operations-focused SimuWorks simulator platform in action, come and take in the Operations Challenge Process Control Event on Monday October 10, 2022 at booth 4562. Teams of wastewater operations experts from across North America will take on the challenge of troubleshooting and fixing simulated wastewater treatment facilities using Hatch’s industry-leading SimuWorks training simulator.
