The International Committee for Study of Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium (ICSOBA) is an independent, non-profit association that unites industry professionals representing major bauxite, alumina, and aluminium producing companies, technology and equipment suppliers, universities, research institutes, and consultants from around the world. The objectives of the conference include reviewing the status of bauxite, alumina, and aluminium industries in the world - with an emphasis on Brazil - and discussing promising research developments aimed at production, productivity, and cost improvement.

Hatch’s Anne Duncan, Global  Director, Bauxite and Alumina, will present “The Alumina Technology Roadmap (ATR)” on Monday, September 16 at 2:10 p.m. KRAT. As the ATR approaches its twentieth year of contribution to our industry, Anne will summarize the most recent ATR update. Initially, the ATR was a strategic plan that contained the research and development agenda needed to address the industry’s technical challenges over the next 20 years. Since that time, our industry has grown 2.5 times, with 90% of the growth in China. Anne discusses designing an engagement model for these new entrants, how the industry is moving in the right direction, and what the next steps are with climate change obligations and Digital 4.0 opportunities.
