Honoring the 2018 World Blood Donor Day

Honoring the 2018 World Blood Donor Day

Every few seconds, someone, somewhere needs blood. Hatch continues to recognize the need for blood donation in every country around the world and has always supported blood donor clinics in the cities where we operate. We often host clinics in our own offices, making it easy for staff to donate.

Thursday, June 14, 2018 is World Blood Donor Day. We encourage you to consider giving the gift of life today and every day. We need to look no further than our own colleagues for reasons why we should consider being a blood donor. Here are some of their stories about how blood donation saved their lives:

When my son was born, things didn’t go as planned and I ended up hemorrhaging. I lost half of my body’s blood. What was supposed to be one of the best days of my life turned into a nightmare. Thankfully we live in a time where blood transfusions are possible and I was able to receive multiple transfusions. 50-60 years ago, I may not have survived. Blood donation saved my life and allowed me to get home to my children. Blood donation is important and I thank everyone who has found it in them to give.  Beth Buckmaster, Client and Stakeholder Relations Manager
