John Bianchini is Hatch’s Chairman (2017–present), Chief Executive Officer (2012–present), and member of the Board of Directors (2003–present).

John has enjoyed a plus 30-year engineering career with Hatch where he has excelled at leadership roles that combined technical, project and management positions. He is an accomplished process engineer, a seasoned project manager, and an experienced global business leader. He has applied his skill and effort to expand the scope and volume of Hatch’s business throughout the world, playing important roles in Hatch's growth, especially in the expansion of the business in Africa, Australia, South America and in China. As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hatch, John represents a team of more than 9,000 employees located in 45 offices on six continents, with capital projects under management totaling more than $30 billion dollars.

His technical experience is in process development and evaluation of hydrometallurgical and chemical processes in the base metal industries. Throughout his career John has shown particular expertise in the creation and implementation of novel technologies to solve our clients’ toughest challenges. John takes a keen interest in the development and mentoring of young engineers and is known as motivational leader in the Canadian engineering community. He is a great supporter of the Canadian universities and their engineering programs, and with Hatch sponsors numerous bursaries and scholarships.

In 2011, he was named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto (1985), is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, and is active in both the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum and the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineers.

John is an avid lover of the arts, and is a member of the Board of Governors at the Royal Ontario Museum, where Hatch has contributed to the development of young minds in the fields of engineering and science. John supports philanthropic causes, and through his leadership, Hatch was recognized as the 2015 recipient of the Outstanding Corporation Award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Philanthropy Awards.
