Bruce Power, Hatch, partner for the long-term
“We are pleased to continue growing our relationship with Bruce Power and expand its access to our services,” says Amar Jolly, Global Director, Nuclear, at Hatch. “This agreement means Hatch will be working even more closely with Bruce Power staff, integrating our people seamlessly with the Bruce Power team. We expect this contract to have a direct impact on the local economy, with a good portion of the work performed out of our Port Elgin office.”
“This long-term service agreement supports both our ongoing operations and our life-extension work, allowing us to continue our role of delivering clean, reliable and low-cost nuclear power to the people of Ontario,” said Bruce Power’s President and CEO, Mike Rencheck. “We value the important relationship we have with Hatch and this agreement establishes support for long-term success.”
The two organizations have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for the better part of two decades. Hatch opened an office in Port Elgin in July 2016, moving staff up to the region and hiring locally. It currently supports Bruce Power’s steam generator replacement project, feeder program, Protected Area Office Complex, Decontamination Facility, and other major component-replacement infrastructure projects.
