Hatch named one of Canada’s Safest Employers for 2015
TORONTO - Hatch was recognized as one of Canada’s Safest employers for 2015 at the fifth annual Canadian Occupational Safety Awards Gala, held on October 28 in Toronto.
Hosted by Thompson Reuters and Canadian Occupational Safety, the annual award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in promoting health and safety in the workplace. Hatch was the Gold recipient in the Mining and Natural Resources category at the event.

To qualify for the award, Hatch submitted a detailed nomination with examples of how safety is maintained and communicated to employees. Canadian Occupational Safety then conducted an employee perception survey with organizations that were shortlisted, to gather feedback on how safety is engrained in the company’s organizational culture. Winners were determined by a panel of industry judges, based on the nomination and results of the employee perception survey.
Canadian Occupational Safety annually recognizes organizations that demonstrate they are leaders in safety culture and work hard to ensure this across all aspects of an organization, believing that safety is a shared responsibility between government, employees, employers, and organizations.
