Sanjiv Save

Armed with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, Sanjiv has worked with large EPC organizations in the United Kingdom, India, and the Middle East, working on various oil and gas projects globally. In 2002, Sanjiv traveled to Alberta, Canada to manage the Bitumen Upgrading Project during which he was associated with Optima Engineering. Five years later, Optima Engineering integrated with Hatch and since then, Sanjiv has been a proud member of the Hatch family as managing director, oil and gas.

Outside of work Sanjiv likes to stay active and catch up with family and friends and can often be found on the badminton courts – he has a mean serve!

What does positive change mean to you?

“I am a technology optimist. Positive change to me means that we are constantly working towards creating practical solutions that are safe, innovative, and sustainable. We need to lead by example and drive positive change through sustainable resource development and continue to acknowledge environmental issues such as climate change and decarbonatization in order to create the most effective and sustainable solutions.”

How are you changing the world?

“By working with exceptional, diverse teams of engineers and business professionals to create solutions that are sustainable and economically viable. We want to leave the communities in which we work better off than when we then we found them, creating lasting, positive change.”

What do you think are the toughest challenges facing your clients?

“Most of our oil and gas clients—in fact this applies to Energy clients overall—continue to grapple with fluctuating environmental and political states of affair, while also trying to come to grips with the speed at which technology continues to evolve. This has in part caused the entire industry to transform and adapt to a new normal. We are in a unique position at Hatch, in that we can help our clients solve their toughest challenges—from concept through to completion—to maximize revenue while focusing on doing the right thing.”

What are you most proud of?

“I’m proud to be a part of a company that understands the client’s needs–acting like owners and tackling the challenges that keep them up at night. In my field of work, I am particularly proud of our innovation–drawing upon both technologies of the past and present to create unique, sustainable solutions while keeping environmental issues top of mind.”

What do you like most about working at Hatch? How do you think the Hatch culture is different from other companies?

“My day is never the same! At Hatch, we have experts in almost any technical field that comes to mind and often I find myself working with professionals with various technical backgrounds. There are a wide variety of projects within each of the industry sectors we work in which means there is a lot of room for opportunity and learning new skills.”
