Why do you believe in diversity and inclusion?

I believe in diversity and inclusion because they bring together different perspectives, experiences, and expertise that drive innovation and add value to our projects. When people feel included, they are more confident sharing their ideas and viewpoints, which strengthens collaboration and helps teams work more effectively toward shared goals.

What do you think we need to do as individuals to improve inclusivity?

As individuals, we can improve inclusivity by being attentive to those around us and mindful of the challenges others may be facing. This includes recognizing when someone may be struggling and offering support in a respectful and constructive way. By showing empathy, encouraging open dialogue, and valuing different perspectives and backgrounds, we help create an environment where people feel supported, respected, and confident contributing fully. These everyday actions foster trust, reduce insecurity, and strengthen a culture of inclusion.

What does positive change mean to you?

Positive change, to me, means intentionally creating a work environment where people feel respected, supported, and aligned around shared goals, enabling teams to collaborate effectively and exceed expectations. It also means acting with integrity by making decisions that reflect our values and doing what is right, even when it is difficult. Together, a strong culture and ethical leadership drive sustainable performance and meaningful impact.

What do you think are the toughest challenges facing our clients?

One of the toughest challenges facing our clients is the ongoing pressure to achieve more—greater performance, efficiency, and impact with every project. Even when exceptional value is delivered through highly customized, one‑of‑a‑kind initiatives, expectations continue to rise for what comes next. To support our clients effectively, we must continually challenge our assumptions, rethink traditional ways of working, and innovate at every level. By doing so, we can deliver tailored, forward‑thinking solutions that address evolving needs and enable clients not only to meet, but potentially surpass their strategic objectives.

What are you most proud of?

What I am most proud of is my family and the unwavering support they have provided throughout my career journey. Their encouragement has enabled me to continually evolve and broaden my professional path, from designing bridges and teaching at the college level to leading engineering teams on complex industrial projects. This support has allowed me to grow, take on new challenges, and contribute meaningfully across a range of roles and disciplines.

What do you like most about working at Hatch? How do you think the Hatch culture is different from other companies?

What I value most about working at Hatch is the opportunity to contribute to projects that drive meaningful, positive change while continually challenging me to grow both professionally and personally. The work is complex and impactful, and the outcomes are often greater than the sum of their parts due to strong collaboration and a shared sense of purpose.

Hatch’s culture also stands out for its strong sense of family and mutual support. There is a genuine spirit of collaboration across teams, disciplines, and geographies, with people willing to help one another succeed. Combined with challenging projects suited to all skill levels, this supportive and inclusive environment makes Hatch both a demanding and deeply rewarding place to work.
