Hatch named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for fourth consecutive year
Toronto, Canada – For the fourth consecutive year, Hatch has been named as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers by the editors of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, Mediacorp Canada Inc.
Now in its 13th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition recognizing employers leading the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness. Winning employers are selected using four main criteria: : (1) unique environmental initiatives or programs they have developed; (2) whether they have been successful in reducing their own environmental footprint; (3) whether their employees are involved in these programs and contribute unique skills; and (4) whether their environmental initiatives have become linked to the employer's public identity, attracting new employees or customers. Sustainability is at the core of Hatch’s corporate vision, which is focused on the pursuit of a better world through positive change. Hatch’s sustainability efforts are grounded in the company’s Statement on Climate Change and Sustainability Policy.
“Hatch believes in bringing positive environmental change through sustainable client solutions and committing to long-term initiatives to significantly reduce carbon emissions and address other aspects of climate change. We are working to do our part by exercising environmentally friendly practices at our offices, including reducing the use of plastic and paper, conserving energy, managing employee travel, and much more. This award encourages us as we accelerate our efforts by centralizing sustainability in all the projects Hatch undertakes and greening our everyday tasks,” said Susan McGeachie, global director, climate change and sustainability services.
Hatch’s commitment to sustainability in their own operations includes a carpooling program with financial incentives, reusable/recyclable cutlery, water efficient appliances, and “It's Cool to be in the Dark” program to reduce AC and lighting usage in summer months, among others.
Hatch congratulates all the fellow awardees.
